Gaurav Mishra has completed his M. Sc. and Ph. D degree in Soil Science from G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. Presently he is working as a soil scientist at the Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat, Assam. He is currently working with three research projects entitled "Studies on changes in Soil Quality and Carbon Buildup under different land use systems in Nagaland; Adaptation and Mitigation Measures in Relation to Shortening of Jhum Cycle vis-à-vis Soil Nutrient Status and Productivity in different Traditional Systems of Nagaland and Assessment of Carbon stock and Carbon sequestration potential of major land use sectors in Nagaland and Upper Assam" funded by ICFRE, Dehradun and DST, New Delhi.
