Dr. Viduranga Y. Waisundara obtained her B. Appl. Sci (Hons) in Food Science & Technology from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2005. Following this, she received the NUS Research Scholarship to pursue her graduate studies. In 2010, she obtained her Ph.D and was employed as a lecturer at the School of Applied Sciences of Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore until March 2013. She relocated to her motherland of Sri Lanka in March 2013 and spearheaded the Functional Food Product Development Project at the National Institute of Fundamental Studies until October 2016. She is currently a Senior Lecturer under the Technology Programme of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. Dr. Waisundara has many research publications and conference papers to her name, and has published several articles in newspapers and magazines. She has also been an invited speaker in international conferences and participated in local school events in Sri Lanka to spread awareness on functional food and dietary habits. She has served as a reviewer for many international peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Dr. Waisundara is a member of many international committees related to food science and nutrition, including the Global Harmonization Initiative (GHI).
